Our Philosophy
We believe that relationships are the key to every child developing to their fullest potential. Through Educators establishing trusting and respectful relationships with children and their families, children feel secure and comfortable to become involved in our curriculum and families feel more valued and comfortable in contributing to our programs and any shared decision making. We nurture children in their relationships with one another and guide them to be kind and respectful.
Educators who make the time to regularly communicate with all families builds a partnership in the care and education of the child where there is consistency between the home and centre. It provides the opportunity for us to learn more about, and build on, the child’s interests and skills as well as the cultures of each family which in turn influence our interactions, routines and programs.
Our play-based curriculums are centered around the interests, strengths and identified areas of need for each child. They are inclusive of children with additional needs and those from culturally diverse backgrounds and varying family structures. While our daily routines are consistent, times in our days are flexible which provides the chance to be spontaneous, promote independence and just be in the moment. We value the indoor and outdoor environments equally and place great emphasis on ensuring they are organized and aesthetically pleasing. By doing this we aim to incite intrigue, participation, exploration and investigation through self-initiated play.
Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework principles, practices and outcomes with nature pedagogy and indigenous culture being at the cornerstone of our curriculum. We place high value on maintaining healthy bodies and minds which impact our learning and behaviours.
Our local community is valued in the contribution it makes in our curriculum. We love opportunities to venture beyond the centre gates and to learn about the world around us. We believe this is integral in us all developing a love for the land on which we live and learn which we will then want to care for now and into the future.
We are committed to continual improvement across all areas of our service and aim to achieve this through reflective practice, research about current theories and approaches and professional development of our Educators.
Our Quality Rating
